It’s been a while since I’ve updated everyone on my progress of becoming a professional truck driver. In the time since my last post, a lot has happened, and I’ve been extremely busy getting things together preparing for this huge lifestyle change.
First, let’s start off with the fact that on Jan. 20th, I passed all three CDL tests on the first try. Those tests were the Pre-Trip Inspection, Backing Maneuvers, and Driving Test. That same day, I went to the DMV and finished off with my Tanker and Hazmat endorsement tests, passing both.
I obtained my CDL with an “N” endorsement, or “Tank Vehicles”. Unfortunately, I have to wait about 30 days to get my Hazmat endorsement since it takes that long for the TSA to say I’m not a risk to transport hazardous materials…
Anyways, I finally have a date to go to Sprinfield, MO to Prime’s main terminal for my orientation. They have set me up for Feb. 14th, and hopefully I will be on the road by the end of that week with a trainer to begin my TNT phase of 40,000 miles.
This adventure is finally becoming a reality, and I can’t wait to start!
